Charles ‘Charlie’ Edward Baity, age 63, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away suddenly in his sleep on January 20, 2022.

Born in Houston, Texas, Charlie attended O’Keefe High School in Atlanta, Georgia. A skilled electrician and carpenter, Charlie worked for most of his adult life and worked at Conger Electric for the last five years of his life. He took pride in his work, working hard to play hard with one of his passions in life, fishing. A skilled angler, Charlie fished hundreds of tournaments over his lifetime at Demooney Lake and Red’s Lake, to name a few. He loved to fish, and everyone who met him on the water saw that passion with his smile, kindness and enthusiasm for the sport. His love for fishing was passed on to his children and grandchildren.


Charlie loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He fiercely loved his entire family and was honest, humble and a faithful friend to everyone in his circle. He loved animals, helping others, watching TV and following his favorite sports teams. Charlie loved sports, specifically baseball and football. He recently attended Game 2 of the World Series to watch his beloved Braves win and celebrated their World Series victory. He loved the Falcons and enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs win the 2022 National Championship. Charlie loved all types & genres of music and attended countless concerts and music festivals throughout his life and many with his children.


Charlie is survived by his wife of 31 years, Penny and his children Christopher Baity and Pamela Touchton, along with their spouses Amanda Baity and John Touchton, his stepdaughter Tiffany Allard and her spouse Kirk Allard. His grandchildren, Beau Causey, Anna Baity, Carrick Hart, Alice Baity, Lily Touchton, Abram Baity, Ava Baity, Jillian Touchton, Kyle & Dean Allard.

Charlie is preceded in passing by his father, Joel Clarence Baity and survived by his mother, Jaqueline Baity, brother Joel Thomas Baity, sisters Amanda Morris, Susan Bohannan and their spouses Billy Morris and Donald Bohannan. He also has several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews and his beloved rescue dogs, Lucky, Chipper and Lucy.

A viewing will be held from 1 pm-2 pm, with a memorial service starting at 2pm Tuesday, January 25 at Hope Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Georgia. A wake will follow services, location TBD.
